Demystifying Killer Keywords: You’re Invited

In the days before Social/New Media getting ranked for keywords were complex strategies. It required meta tags and specialized knowledge that only web designers and search engine optimization (SEO) specialists knew about.  No one really understood how keywords worked and SEO specialists worked hard to keep the process shrouded in mystery.

With blogs, online video and other New Media Channels though, keyword mastery (and ranking in Search Engine Results) came within reach of people like you and me.

You didn’t have to wait for your web master to update your meta tags or build a web page for you.  You could just create a keyword rich headline, sprinkle some killer keywords in key area of a blog post and optimize the permalink URL and hit publish and voila - you’ve created your own keyword rich blog content all without the help of an SEO specialist.

New Media has helped abbreviate part of the keyword process: simplifying the technical how-to aspect of embedding keywords in your Hub Site. But the process for selecting killer keywords, can still cause of bit of confusion.

That’s why we’re holding a special call for our Tribe on Wednesday, July 8th to focus strictly on the Killer Keyword Selection process from the Marketing-for-Life Tribal Seduction course.

Come and learn:

  • The 5 critical areas of a blog post for inserting your Killer Keywords
  • The 3-step process for creating your own Killer Keyword list
  • The two types of keyword research tools you have at your fingertips (with recommendations)
  • The #1 key to turning your Killer Keywords into cold hard cash

COME AND JOIN US WEDNESDAY
July 8th, 2009 - 7:00 PM Eastern (US)

In the New Economy you need every advantage you can get. You can’t afford to make it “business as usual” with a little more effort. Working harder at things that no longer work will have on the soup line instead of rising above the fray.

I hate to be so blunt — but you can’t afford to do what everyone else is doing — marketing ass-backwards.

Set WEDNESDAY July 8th 7pm Eastern/4pm Pacific  on your calendar and come learn what the average marketer and business owner is missing.

IMPORTANT: If you’re reading this post and you are NOT yet a subscriber to the Tribal Seduction Journal — be sure to subscribe since ONLY members will get the special handouts for the class.

Are You to Blame for the “Bad Customer”?

A friend sent me a Tweet with a video that — if you are a marketer, business owner or sales pro — you absolutely MUST watch. Yes it’s funny. Because, as with all good humor; it’s based on the truth. But you’ll also cringe as you watch it because if you’ve been in business for even a few months; I guarantee you’ve met bad customers something like this.

Watch the video now, and then I’ve got one of the most critical questions you need to ask yourself if you want your business to be a source of pleasure instead of constant pain.

Ok, so pretty funny huh?! And it probably had you squirming in your seat too, right? If you’re like me, you were probably wanted to yell, “Bad customer! Bad, bad customer!”

But think about this; who created this type of customer? Like poorly trained dogs that the infamous “Dog Whisperer” Cesar Millan deals with; the problem is not with the dogs, but with the owners.

Customers, consumers, clients…. whatever label you want to apply — they are being trained by their “owners.” And in this fantastical metaphor, their “owners” are, well — YOU!

Maybe not you personally. I know you probably hate this type of prospect or customer. But the fact is they didn’t

Reach Out With New Media Marketing

There’s a great slogan in the Advertising Slogan Hall of Fame: Reach out and touch someone - a slogan for AT&T.  At one time, the only way you could “touch” someone you weren’t physically with was to pick up the phone and call them.  The phone was the medium that allowed you to connect at a deeper level with a loved one who was far away or a business associate you needed to speak to or a prospect you needed to convert.

In today’s new media marketplace, you have a host of options that allow you to reach out and touch someone.  In fact, you’re overwhelmed with the places that you can go to connect with your followers: YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace… the list goes on and on.

In pre-New Media days, the telephone was the hub of most of your marketing activities.  Even if you placed an ad in the paper or on TV, your phone number was always present.  The phone was the central location from which you directed your marketing efforts and to which you directed your followers.

Marketing online today requires a centralized hub too…

Today’s New Media Marketplace offers an endless selection of channels by which you can attract your Tribe. In fact; it can be quite overwhelming and intimidating. But the truth is, you only need a select group of these channels to connect with your target audience. And what’s right for you may not be right for another entrepreneur or marketer.

These online and off-line channels are the spokes that radiate our from you Hub Site; and with that you are ready to roll with your very own New Media Marketing Wheel.

Automation and pro-action

With all the different ways you can implement your outbound marketing strategies, you could spend hours posting videos to the different distribution sites, writing newsletters and submitting blog posts to social bookmarking sites.  Imagine how much time and energy you would save if you one location you could launch all those activities from automatically.

Well imagine no more!

If you attended last week’s BLOG i360 Hub Site revolution call, you gained a solid understanding of the Hub Site Concept.  If you missed the call or want to review some of the strategies that were discussed, you can access the replay here.

BLOG i360 is the connection tool for the new millennium.  Wanna reach out and touch someone?  You can with the push of a button.  In fact, you can reach out and touch a lot of someones at the same time - with just the push of one button.

But a hub site is just another website if you don’t understand how to harness the power of what it can do for you.

That’s why we coined the term New Media Marketing Wheel as an extension of the Hub Site concept.  Think about it, a hub is the central part of a wheel.  It can also be used to describe the center of activity or interest.  Implicit in the term hub, is the word center.

So your hub site sits at the center of your marketing activities, which radiate out from the center like spokes on a wheel.

Pretty neat right?

The Hub Site and New Media Marketing Wheel go hand in hand.

That’s why we’re throwing open the doors again to this week’s LIVE! BLOG i360 webinar where we’ll discuss the New Media Marketing wheel and give you a step-by-step process to get your New Media Marketing wheel rolling for you.

If you’re serious about connecting with your tribe, you MUST attend this call.

The Pregnant Question to Birth More Sales in a Down Economy

the pregnant question - how to market in a down economyI’m about to share some extremely valuable information related to making more money and gaining more market share in a down economy. It is worth thousands to some, millions to others. Whether you see it as a rescue, revival or re invention - it will quietly revolutionize the way you market and sell. Please grab a pen and paper, and prepare to THINK through this for yourself when you’re done reading.

In every industry there is something called “the MUST buyer.” These are the ideal group to focus on in your niche because they have outside forces beyond their control literally or figuratively “forcing” them to take action… no matter whether the economy is up or down.

Good real estate agents will recognize the MUST buyer immediately. For example, there’s the professional who MUST relocate for a job. The family that MUST relocate due to kids needing to attend school in a particular district. The baby boomers who need a larger home to care for or to move close to an ailing relative. For Real Estate investors; it’s 1031 Exchangers who MUST buy another property within six-months of sale or face getting nailed with deferred taxes.

In health-and-fitness there are people with Diabetes, heart disease, or other ailments who MUST change their diet and exercise habits or die — literally. On the lighter, but no less urgent side, is the bride who MUST fit into that “dream dress” for the “big day.”

In investing there are people who MUST find a new way to invest for higher returns because, like or it or not, their kids are going to college in 3-years. It’s the retired person who MUST change their investment vehicles to protect their wealth. These are people who MUST act now, no matter what the economy is doing.

If you sell travel-related services, jewelry or any other “gift related” product or service there are dates that people MUST adhere to (or face the wrath of their spouse.) For example; there’s the wedding engagement and honeymoon. There’s the 1st, 10th, 25th and 50th wedding anniversaries that MUST be celebrated. Each with an escalating level of investment in both dollars and thought because they happen only once.

In all cases the MUST buyer has less of a concern on cost, and more concern about getting their issue solved right now!

The pregnant question…

No matter what industry, niche or area of expertise you live in; you have MUST buyers waiting for you (or anyone) to speak directly to them. Your competitors are highly unlikely reach out to them. What are you doing to find, woo and wow the MUST buyers in your Tribe?

Yes its going to take more work, more time and maybe even more of an investment to find your MUST buyers. But they are worth a lot more to your bottom line, so you can afford to (and should be willing to,) invest more time/money/effort in identifying them.

So the pregnant question is — who are the MUST buyers in YOUR Tribe? The more precise your answer, the better shot you have at finding, wooing and wowing them. If you’ve invested in the Marketing-for-Life program, be sure to add these to your Loyals Profiles in your Persuasive Selling Platform™. ;-)

The great thing about this is your competitors are sure to ignore this strategy; and even if they see you doing it, choose to ignore it because they’re too lazy, ignorant or stuck in the economy of the last 20-years to put in the extra effort copying you. You can choose to live like it’s the fat and sassy years of free-flowing credit and fictitious wealth… or start working by the rules of the New Economy. Which will you choose?

What are your thoughts?

Leave your thoughts in some graffiti down in the comment area below. ;-)

The Path To Success Starts Here!

There’s a whole new way to do business today and it requires a whole new approach.  The new way of marketing and selling is heavily reliant on New Media and Social Media.  With your BLOG i360 Hub Site, you have an advantage and are already riding the wave of New Media.  But there’s something else that’s required to succeed.

If you’re going to market in today’s marketplace, you have to be different.

And if you’re going to sell in today’s marketplace, you have to be yourself.

It comes down to: people buy who you are before they buy what you’re selling.  That’s true in every aspect of life, but it’s especially true in business.

Paul Harvey, the most famous and engaging radio personality in the United States, summed it up best: Selling is simple if it’s preceded by trust.

That sums up the whole art of marketing and selling.

These are just some of the gems that were shared in the first 20 minutes of last week’s marathon (and by marathon, I mean 2 hours!) Tribal Seduction preview call.

Tribal Seduction Marketing For Life Part I:

Coach Deb updates friends and followers on their move to California and shares a special bonus available to the first five new members of the Tribal Seduction Tribe.

JP Micek outlines the key to success in the New Media Marketplace.

Tribal Seduction Marketing For Life Part II:

JP discusses the importance of leading a tribe and the path to success.  Lisa Hyatt shares how Tribal Seduction helped her find a marketing model that fit for her.

Tribal Seduction Marketing For Life Part III:

Scott Tousignant shares the impact Tribal Seduction has had on his business and life!

Tribal Seduction Marketing For Life Part IV:

James Wedmore talks about how to overcome fear in being yourself.

This Just In: We had so much interest in our call last week that we’ll be hosting another LIVE tribal seduction call next week.  Be sure to save the date:

ON:    Wednesday, June 10th / Thursday, June 11th (in Australia)

Tribal Seduction is Bringing the SEXy Back To Marketing

I have a confession to make: I’m on a personal mission to bring SEXy back to marketing.  No, no, no, not the bleached blondes in swimsuits beer commercial kind of sexy marketing but the Seductive Engaging eXpression of Your image and brand kinda SEXy.

Think about it - what is Seduction?  It’s a mutually beneficial exchange between two people who find each other attractive. Attraction is sexy.  How?  Because to attract someone you have to get their attention. Seduction is a GREAT way to not only grab someone’s attention - but capture it for life.

Applying seduction to your marketing is the hottest way to market in this new media marketplace.  Long before someone buys what you sell, they buy who YOU are.  If you can create a compelling, attractive and engaging online persona, you’ll connect with Your Tribe.

Engage - Connect - Convert

That’s the cornerstone of marketing in the new millennium. Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and LinkedIn are the tools that allow you to engage a tribe of like-minded followers.

Tribal Seduction is the ace up your sleeve… your secret, persuasive platform that will enable you to lead your tribe.

Sound intriguing? Be sure to join Coach Deb next Thursday for a special teleclass for Tribal Seduction members. (Who are Tribal Seduction Members? The ones who are subscribed to this blog.)

Take Action To Protect Your Brand

There’s a rising trend in social media: squatters.  Seems that the latest Twitter trend is for squatters to snatch up trademark Twitter IDs.  Nicole Kidman, Coca Cola, and Nike have all had their names snatched up by others.  (You can read the full Squatters Creating Twittering Confusion article.)  Even Kayne West spoke out against Twitter and called on the site to take down the user tweeting under his name.

We all don’t have the power of Kanye or Coca Cola or Nike but there are steps we can take to protect our name and our brand across the different social media networks.

If you’re not a member of this Tribal Seduction Tribe, you may have missed the LIVE show Coach Deb was on last week talking about Protecting Your Social Media Identity.  It’s a short video - designed to motivate you to TAKE ACTION to protect your brand, build your reputation online, and get you Traffic & online presence all over the internet!

There are specific action steps for you to take to lock up your first and last name, brand and company name on the different social networks.

ACTION STEP: Lock up your first and last name on the different social networks. Lock up your brand or company name.

Be sure to lock up your name on the following sites:

  • Twitter
  • Facebook
  • Squidoo
  • FriendFeed
  • Plurk
  • YouTube
  • LinkedIn
  • MySpace

Try to grab the same user name if you can.  Lock up your name and brand even if you’re not going to be actively using them.

And share your own favorites by clicking the comment button below.

The ONE THING That Matters Most When Selling

Selling more, personal brand, persuasive selling platformOn February 28, 2009 an American icon passed away. He left us with years of his wit and wisdom, but his most important lesson for business owners was hidden behind the veil of the new style of radio program he created.

This sales-boosting and brand-building secret was summed up in one simple statement. And in that statement is all you need to be focused on ALL day, EVERY day to sell and grow your business most effectively.

First… the man behind the wisdom

I’ll share the statement in a moment, but to fully appreciate and apply it you first need to know a little more about the man behind the wisdom.

The man was Paul Harvey, host of the famous “The Rest of the Story” radio show. With the unique format of his radio show, Paul entertained AND sold like none before. He had a strategy and system that perfectly complimented his “folksy” personal brand.

He was known for the catch phrase he used at the beginning of his programs,”Hello Americans, I’m Paul Harvey. You know what the news is, in a minute, you’re going to hear … the rest of the story.” The last item of his broadcast, which was often a funny story, would usually be preceded by “For what it’s worth.” And he always ended, “Paul Harvey … Good day.”

At the time of his death he was arguably the most famous radio personality in America with his show syndicated on over 1,200 stations. And right up until his death he was still doing his show and selling products… and even vaulting unknown brands into national prominence. (Think Bose)

Paul Harvey’s career was not without controversy though. He publicly took strong political positions, advocated for the Vietnam War, and was fiercely critical of political and other public figures.

The strategies

Yes, as you see — Paul Harvey practiced all the elements of Tribal Seduction:

A strategy and system built around his Personal Brand (Persuasive Selling Platform)

  • He was transparent letting his persona and personal views shine through without shame (invaluable to gathering a tribe of true Loyals)
  • Paul chose (and stuck with) the communication channel that best suited his Persuasive Selling Platform
  • He chose the communication channel that provided the best access to his Tribe (primarily Baby Boomers and older)

The “ONE THING”

But what’s that one statement that encapsulates all you need to be focused on ALL day, EVERY day to market most effectively?

It comes from

Direct Your Own Marketing Movie to Boost Your Sales

Whether you are marketing online or off-line, marketing with New Media or old media — honesty is critical to your sales success. Denying the facts will get you nowhere. Actually in today’s New Media Marketplace with the unbridled power of Social Media; denial will get you creamed!

So what’s the answer to effectively marketing an imperfect product in an imperfect world?

Watch this quick video and find out. I filmed it myself while driving home in Hawaii so the camera angle is off in some parts — but the topic and tips are so good I decided to publish it and give you a good laugh at the same time as a good profit-boosting strategy.

Get the Flash Player to see this player.

So there you have it, even in the video you see imperfection is not something you need to hide.

What’s your take?

  • Have you ever felt like you had to deny an imperfection in your product or services?
  • How do you feel when a Marketplace Molester or List Pimp tries to tell you you’re just imagining things?
  • How could you “frame” imperfections in a way that actually grows your Tribe?

Share your thoughts in some graffiti in the comment area down below. ;-)

Online Video Or Bust: Reality Mastermind Guys Share Their Tips with Coach Deb

Online video is the #1 strategy you must incorporate into your New Media Matrix.  If you’re not posting your own online videos to your blog, you’re missing out on one of the best ways of creating meaningful connections with your tribe.

If you’re not a member of this Tribal Seduction Tribe, you may have missed the LIVE show Coach Deb was on last week talking about Online Video and getting the Reality Mastermind Guyz to share their best tips for online video. But you can catch the first 30 minutes of the show right here:

Please forgive the poor sound quality in the beginning.

We received feedback that our voices couldn’t be heard and we adjusted the mic accordingly. Well, apparently people were able to hear the star, James Wedmore speak. As for “the others” well, we were mere pawns on his show anyway. (I think he set it up so this would be the result :)

Ustream was a wee bit glitchy for this LIVE video show. :( BUT this goes to prove the power of video. The number of participants only continued to GROW by the minute, despite our voices coming in and out.

Lesson of this “poor video quality”? Just DO It!

And as David Grau pointed out, “Just Keep Swimming” is the other hidden lesson in this video. (Hidden because you could probably barely hear him! Thank goodness for the clever post it notes! Sexy visual, wouldn’t cha’ say?)
