This is high-resolution 55mb video above and takes a while to load. You can read while it loads or watch it on Revver down below.
Using video to bond with your Tribe in your New Media Marketing will boost emotional bonding.
If you’ve been shying away from using it because you think capturing video needs to be complex or costly — this is going to rock your world and remove any fear. And even if you’re more experienced at filming with an expensive HD camera, you’ll see why this is a “must have tool” for you too!

When it comes to capturing video for New Media Marketing, there’s a new king on the block for simplicity. It’s called the Flip Video recorder. This tiny little recorder (it’s the size of a pack of cards,) holds 60-minutes of digital video. Quality is more than sufficient for Web use, and it even looks good on a regular TV too.
We’ve been testing the new Flip Video in “normal” filming situations. But we wanted to really put it to the test and see how quickly it would adapt to rapid light changes and high speed movement.
As you’ll see from the video, the Flip Video does not disappoint here either. The online trans-coding on YouTube does it no justice, Revver is better.
But above in raw format, and even on Revver down below, you can see that it did as good a job at color and light adjustment under demanding situations. Surprisingly as good as our $2,000 Sony HD camera! You can really see the lush greens of the mountains and deep blues of the ocean even at high speed.
Flip Video is one of the best “bang for your buck” purchases you can make. At around $150 online, Flip Video is a “must have” tool for anyone serious about New Media Marketing.
How could you boost your Tribal Seduction and New Media Marketing with a Flip video Recorder? And if you’ve already got a Flip Video, what are you doing with it to have fun and bond with your Tribe?
Drop us a quick note below and share your ideas.

The Flip Video is so easy to use with very good picture quality. For unknown reasons I am not able to import the Flip Video avi files into Sony Vegas Movie Studio to do editing. There is something on my Vaio desktop that is creating a codec issue which I cannot figure out for the life of me. But the Flip Video is well worth the money!
You’re not alone with the Sony Vegas import issue Rick. We have the same problem on our Dell workstations. A quick conversion from avi to wmv solves that issue if editing is needed. Hopefully a fix will come out for this issue soon.
Someone told me about this camera a couple of months ago and I’ve left major hints… more than hints… to my husband that his would look nice under the Christmas tree.
I am keen to get started creating my own videos I like the sound of the Flip Video however as I live in Australia I have a couple fo questions for you. I haven;t been able to find somehwere to buy the flip video over here however can buy online of course. I am wondering how it is powered – via USB like the iPOD? or replaceable batteries – like AA’s? Or does it need to be plugged into a pwoer socket? The last wll be an issue if I am buying from the US market.
Also I am not experienced as yet and have noticed comments about issues with editing from the Flip video how hard will I find this to resolve? I don;t even know what avi and wmv mean! Thanks in advance for your help.
Lenore — you can buy the FlipVideo online in a number of places that will ship to Australia. Check out http://www.cnet.com for the best prices & shipping (keyword search: flip video).
On the power, it is two standard AA batteries. One pair tends to last about 6-to-7 hours.
On the editing side… my first comment would be — don’t worry about editing! Just get started using video in your Tribal Seduction & New Media marketing.
Secondly, FlipVideo comes with some very easy to use editing and movie-making software. It’s a great starting point to get the hang of video editing and even music overlays.
If you use a PC, all Windows machines come with Microsoft Movie Maker software installed. It’s another basic editing/movie-making software… but very easy to use. You can get your feet wet with online video using these tools then move on up from there at your own pace.
Just get started! New Media marketing is fun…. especially when you use online video combined with the Tribal Seduction approach.
Thanks JP, appreciate your help.
I have the Flip video and have been using it, my husband found out the microphone is super sensative. I can down load it to his computer fine. He has Windows XP but I can’t download it to mine I have vista if anyone has ideas about how to solve this I would love to hear them.
Thanks
I am a real estate broker and many Realtors on Active Rain are talking about and using the Flip Video! I would really like to start using it for videoing my home listings but always thought the learning curve would be too high. Can someone please give me the ABC’s of using this cool tool for someone that is really green when it comes to video technology but very, very intersted? Thanks!
An easy way to share video taken with the flip is with stashspace.com. They are an online video storage and sharing company that works great for sharing flip video. They have a video software with a special add from flip feature that organizes all of the clips from the flip video into scenes on a sharable movie. So you get a dvd style menu just like a blockbuster DVD. The software is really easy to use. They have free and paid accounts. The paid accounts get you higher quality sharing and storage. I had my Flip Video for a month and then lost it….
To my own kids. They love it…talk into it..make videos
of themselves singing and playing the piano.
Hmmmm…Maybe it’s time for a HD Flip.
Awesome Blog Coach Deb.
Thanks for such excellence in your leadership
online!
I love my Flip! It is so much easier to use than my $1K Sony HD camcorder. And it’s so small it goes everywhere with me. Online video rocks!
This is a wonderful blog and a nice summary here
